Reconstructing Faith: A Learning Community

Healing Prayer: 5 Axioms for Reconstruction

Our next topic in the Reconstructing Faith Learning Community is Healing Prayer. We'll talk about:

  • What is actually happening when we pray for each other?
  • What do we do with unanswered prayer?
  • How can we heal from (the irony!) harmful experiences of healing prayer?
  • How can we navigate these tensions in our presence with and prayers for those who are suffering?

In this 4-week class we’ll create lots of space to bring doubts and questions into the light, and offer 5 axioms for a "minimum viable theology" of healing prayer that is both concrete and flexible enough to allow us to pray with each other for healing and lament with one another in the grief of unanswered prayer, ultimately allowing us to be drawn into communion with God and each other through solidarity with those who suffer.

This class will meet on Mondays at 12pm ET (Sep 9, 16, 23, 30) on Zoom.
