El Libro de Oraci\u00f3n Com\u00fan tiene una Colecta para el D\u00eda de Acci\u00f3n de Gracias que dice lo siguiente:<\/p>\n

Padre todopoderoso y misericordioso, te damos gracias por los frutos de la tierra en su tiempo y por las labores de quienes los cosechan. Haznos, te rogamos, administradores fieles de tu gran abundancia, para la provisi\u00f3n de nuestras necesidades y el alivio de todos los que est\u00e1n en necesidad, para la gloria de tu Nombre; por Jesucristo nuestro Se\u00f1or, que vive y reina contigo y el Esp\u00edritu Santo, un solo Dios, ahora y por siempre. Am\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Recientemente, un consejo de l\u00edderes, pastores y acad\u00e9micos de una variedad de tribus y comunidades nativas de Am\u00e9rica del Norte trabaj\u00f3 para producir el Versi\u00f3n de las Primeras Naciones<\/a> del Nuevo Testamento. Esta traducci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena ayuda a otros a reconocer la forma en que una lente blanca y euroc\u00e9ntrica ha impactado las traducciones de nuestros textos sagrados, los cuales surgieron en un contexto antiguo del Cercano Oriente a lo largo de cientos de a\u00f1os. Una de las lecturas designadas para este d\u00eda (nuevamente, del Libro de Oraci\u00f3n Com\u00fan) es de 2 Corintios 9:6-15, y aqu\u00ed incluyo el texto de esta traducci\u00f3n, ofreci\u00e9ndola como una forma de desafiarte en este D\u00eda de Acci\u00f3n de Gracias, un d\u00eda que no es visto o reverenciado de manera similar entre las personas de ascendencia europea y muchos nativos americanos. Casi todos vivimos en tierras que los colonos europeos nos quitaron a las diversas tribus ind\u00edgenas que viv\u00edan en las Am\u00e9ricas. El D\u00eda de Acci\u00f3n de Gracias es un d\u00eda que deber\u00eda desafiar nuestro sentido de propiedad, posesi\u00f3n y generosidad, y este pasaje hace precisamente eso por nosotros.<\/p>\n

Recuerda este dicho: Quien siembra pocas semillas, cosechar\u00e1 poco. Quien siembra muchas semillas, cosechar\u00e1 mucho. Cada uno de ustedes debe dar lo que ha decidido en su coraz\u00f3n. No deben sentirse forzados a dar por culpa, porque alguien los averg\u00fcence por no dar. Porque el Gran Esp\u00edritu ama cuando la gente da de coraz\u00f3n alegre. El Creador tiene el poder de usar el don de toda su gran bondad para proveer m\u00e1s que suficiente para todas sus necesidades en todo momento. De esta manera, tendr\u00e1n abundancia para ayudar a otros, tal como se dice en nuestras Sagradas Ense\u00f1anzas: \u201cLlen\u00f3 muchas mantas de regalo para los pobres. Sus rectos caminos le traer\u00e1n honor m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del fin de todos los d\u00edas\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n

El que da la semilla para sembrar y el buen alimento para comer har\u00e1 que tus semillas crezcan en una gran cosecha para hacer lo que es correcto. Su bendici\u00f3n descansar\u00e1 sobre ti en todos los sentidos para que siempre puedas ser una bendici\u00f3n para los dem\u00e1s. De esta manera, el regalo que nos das para otros traer\u00e1 honor y gratitud al Gran Esp\u00edritu. Esta sagrada tarea de dar no solo ayuda a los pobres entre el pueblo santo del Creador en la Aldea de la Paz (Jerusal\u00e9n), sino que tambi\u00e9n inspira a muchas personas a dar alabanzas al Gran Esp\u00edritu. Tu disposici\u00f3n a llevar a cabo esta sagrada tarea de dar demuestra que tu fidelidad a la buena historia del Elegido va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las palabras. \u00bfNotaste esa frase: \u201cmantas de regalo\u201d? Las ceremonias de \u201centrega\u201d o \u201cPotlatch\u201d tienen diversas expresiones a lo largo de muchas comunidades ind\u00edgenas diferentes. Todas comparten una pr\u00e1ctica e intenci\u00f3n similares: los miembros de una familia colocan casi todas sus pertenencias, especialmente sus posesiones m\u00e1s preciadas, sobre mantas como un verdadero regalo a toda la comunidad.<\/p>\n

Entonces, tras oraciones de agradecimiento por estos dones, los miembros designados de la comunidad devuelven algunos de esos dones a la familia, a la vez que se aseguran de que se satisfagan las necesidades de otros en la comunidad. A veces se invita a personas necesitadas a venir y tomar lo que m\u00e1s necesitan.<\/p>\n

Qu\u00e9 imagen incre\u00edble y contracultural de una profunda creencia en la abundancia. Los int\u00e9rpretes de esta traducci\u00f3n conectaron con una pr\u00e1ctica cultural significativa de dar entre los pueblos nativos al nombrar la \u201cmanta de dar\u201d en lugar de \u201cesparcir\u201d regalos para los pobres. Este acto del Giveaway est\u00e1 arraigado en una creencia profunda y radical: hay suficiente para que todos tengan lo que necesitan, y nuestra responsabilidad colectiva es asegurarnos de que as\u00ed sea. No damos por obligaci\u00f3n o culpa. Sino por la profunda creencia de que nuestras posesiones no son nuestras, y d\u00e1rselas a la comunidad es una forma de evitar que nos posean.<\/p>\n
