Dr. Miguel A. De La Torre, Professor of Social Ethics and Latinx Studies at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.iliff.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Iliff School of Theology\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>in Denver, Colorado.\u00a0He has served as the elected 2012 President of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/scethics.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Society of Christian Ethics<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and served as the Executive Officer for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesrer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Society of Race, Ethnicity and Religion<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(2012-17). Dr. De La Torre is a recognized international Fulbright scholar who has taught courses and lectured around the world.\u00a0In 2020, the American Academy of Religion bestowed on him the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aarweb.org\/AARMBR\/Publications-and-News-\/Newsroom-\/News-\/2021\/01\/Miguel-De-La-Torre-Wins-Excellence-in-Teaching-Award.aspx?fbclid=IwAR3Np8U5Eke4AIqGW9IIMSSg4AmM-tOa-uTmBbaMf1JOBkQOhDqOhgQcpFw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Excellence in Teaching Award<\/a>. The following year, 2021, the American Academy also conferred upon him the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aarweb.org\/AARMBR\/Who-We-Are-\/Award-Programs-\/Awards\/Marty-Award.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Martin E. Marty Public Understanding of Religion Award<\/a>.
